Just another day!

Wednesdays are our playgroup days so this morning I told Matt it was time to get ready to go to Pizza Hut to play with his friends and the little booger climbed onto the bed, got under the blanket and said, "Matt wants to stay home and watch toon toons" I told him that we had to go and he said, "Mom, leave Matt alone." What?!? Isn't he way too young to want me to go away! I thought I wouldn't have to deal with that until his teenage years....boy was I way off!

Well we went to playgroup and he had a great time just like I knew he would. Mommy knows best, right? Our next stop was Wal-mart. As usual, I walked down the clearance aisle. I found a 3 pack of Cars cars. I didn't think Matt was even paying attention to me when I picked them up. I took them to the price scanner and they wanted $5.50 for them. I thought that was too much to pay for 3 little cars, so I put it back on the shelf and didn't give it another thought. When we'd been home for a little while, Matt came to me and said, "Where's my race car?" I had no idea what he was talking about and then he said, "My Lighting Queen race car" I knew then that he'd seen me and I felt like the worst mom in the world. I told him they were too expensive and mommy had to put them back. I think he cried on and off for like an hour. Then when his daddy came home, he started searching all over the house for the stupid car again. So I told him again that it was too expensive and the waterworks started again. It was all I could do not to drive all the way back up to Wal-mart and get my baby his car. Don't worry, I didn't.

My little bean is such a dada's girl. Every day, he comes home and she runs to him and sticks by him until she goes to bed. Poor guy can't even go to the bathroom without Emmy standing outside the bathroom door crying. I'm so happy she's a daddy's girl. I always wanted to be but wasn't, so the fact that my daughter is makes me ecstatic.

We leave next week for Gulf Shores. I'm sooooooo excited. It's our first official family vacation. We've gone out of town once since Emily was born, but it was only to my dad's wedding for the weekend.
